Normally we try not to post promotionally oriented articles here, but the deals on these upcoming SUP surfing courses in Tofino are just too good to pass up.
$99 gets you two days of instruction and two nights of dormitory style accommodations at Jamie’s Rainforest Inn, which is the old Clayoquot Orca Inn on the highway near North Chesterman Beach.
Considering the fact that those accommodations would normally cost $60 for the two nights, that means you’re only paying $49 for two days of instruction.
If you don’t have your own gear, board rentals are $20 per day, $10 per day for wetsuit, booties and gloves or $5 per day for gloves and booties.

In preparation for the SUP Surf Invitational (October 25 and 26) T’ashii Paddle School introduces Canada’s most advanced 2 day SUP courses in Tofino BC. Lead by owner and long time paddle surfing instructor Emre Bosut, T’ashii’s Tofino SUP Program is based on experiential learning with a focus on safety and builds on basic theory.
Tofino; located on the west coast of Vancouver Island, coined Canada’s surf capital based on the strong surf culture, constant swell and variety of easy access surf breaks is the ideal training ground to try SUP Surfing for the first time in small manageable waves, or advance your skills in more challenging surf conditions.
We also take pride in offering the SAFEST courses on the west coast; Emre is the only SUP instructor with a current Wilderness First Responder and Lifesaveing Society certification, he is a First Aid Instructor and guide trainer with the COLT program at Strathcona Park Lodge. In addition T’ashii’s mobility to access the safest paddling locations, use of a full safety kit including VHF radio allows us to focus on safety so you can focus on learning.
Course Structure:
Tofino SUP Courses provide a detailed skill and decision making breakdown with a focus on learning through time on the water. Instructor participant ratio is kept at 1:4 for small personalized group sizes.
All courses include dorm style accommodation in Jamie’s Rainforest Inn. Located on the inlet in Tofino and with easy access to a full variety of surf breaks within a couple minute drive. Don’t have your own transportation? Participants can hop in the paddle-mobile and grab a ride to the break.
During the course participants will surf and learn together in a fun and dynamic learning environment. Each day includes two surf sessions (morning and afternoon). Surf sessions take place at any of the variety of beaches from Long Beach to Mackenzie Beach and anything in between. The emphasis being a secluded location with surf that matches the groups ability.

Food is not provided. Tofino has a full verity of food options including Jamie’s Restaurant and lounge located in the Inn.
