Stayed up past 2am after the incredible Luau to bring you all this short video showing some of the carnage of the 2nd Annual Battle of the Paddle. Chose Steve Jacobonsky’s “My Name is Lincoln” from the Island Soundtrack for the music. The voice over is a history lesson on SUP from none other then Dr. Paskowitz. Cheka-Looka Surf Shop in Seattle Washington is hosting a stand up paddleboard race on Sunday August 16th, 2009.

Stand Up Paddleboard Race Aug 16th, 2009 at Chekalooka Surf Shop 10am-1pm
Hopefully the freighters are rolling strong on Aug 16th. Why? Well, if you ever wanted a chest high peeling wave in Seattle that’s one reason.

Come see it to believe it down at Chekalooka Surf Shop and join the fun of SUP! Surf, sun, bbq, music, dancing, and a beach clean-up to follow the competition. Winners will be rewarded with a handsome prize! Stop by the shop for more details, or send us a message. BYO board and wetsuit, or reserve a rental NOW as supply is limited. $10 entry fee, free to spectators.

Vancouver Area Meet Up?

The paddle surf community is growing pretty quickly around here in Vancouver, so thought it might be good to start up a discussion on possible times and places for group paddles around the Lower Mainland.

We’re planning on integrating a full on forum system to this site in the coming weeks, but for now post in the comments here with when and where you’re available to meet up!
