Nice one Kelly!
We've got the race results here if you haven't seen them yet.
Also, heard from a few people that Battle of the Paddle 2009 was a huge success, congrats on being able to get down there for that!

Hey - congrats to all of the Canadians who were at the Battle - that was an amazing event! The Elite race was entertaining to say the very least. I finally managed to surf for the first time on the Friday and what a feeling. On the racing side, I saw a few names from Vancouver/Burnaby on the list but never got a chance to meet you (them). Hope we connect sometime.
Still buzzing from the event...

Hey guys i just wanted to post my experience at the battle of the paddle
First off it was probably the most organized events i have ever been to. They had lots of good companies and sponsorships at the race and very nice people every where. The weather and location were awesome. I entered in the Open Age group and placed 6th in my division, next year i hope to get into the top 4. The level of competetion there is very high, but is till had a great time using a brand new board, which was a Bark 12'6 race board and a Methane Kialoa paddle. The Elite race was a blast to watch as most people who were there would probably agree, it was mainly extreme carnage with amazing paddling and surfing. Next year i hope to train up to be able to race in the 10 mile race but this year i just watched, and the relay was another great watch, and hopefully i can get a team together for that also. I met some awesome SUPers and picked up a couple of things while i was there to improve my speed, and time.
Over all a great time and i cant wait to compete in more races and to race in the battle of the paddle again next year.
